Rain Barrels & Pump
Rain barrels are the easiest and most convenient way to obtain water that is free of chlorine and minerals that can harm your moss.
By elevating the barrels on cinder blocks or a stand, water can easily be drawn from the tap near the bottom.

Our Retro-fitted Rainwater Barrels are the environmentally conscious solution to making rainwater collection truly sustainable.

Our re-claimed Rainwater Barrels were previously used as food grade containers for shipping and storing olives.
Imported from Spain, they have been reconditioned, painted, and retrofitted to hold 60 gallons of rainwater.
Our Rainwater Barrel is constructed from UV protected 3/16” gauge polyethylene for long-lasting performance.

Retrofitted Rainwater Barrels offer best functionality in rainwater collection systems, featuring a screw on lid, overflow fitting and tubing,
garden hose threaded spigot, drain plug, and choice of two port heights to attach a garden hose that can then connect to our mister system.
If you will be hooking the water tap to a hose that will run to a mister kit you will also need one of our booster pumps (and more than likely one
of our life-like hollow "rocks" to place it under).

We also highly recommend a downspout diverter so you can re-direct water to your barrel as needed.

To make your rain barrel work with our mister kits, simply hook up our booster pump between the hose outlet of your
rain barrel and the misting kit water feed line.

To complement our Retrofitted Rain Barrel, we offer an efficient and easy to operate Rainwater Diverter made from galvanized steel. This Rainwater Diverter is easily installed as an in-line section of your downspout. Its hinged port is simply swung open to direct water right to your rain barrel’s lid. The Rainwater Diverter just as easily swings shut during winter months when the rainwater barrel is no longer in use. Our knitted shade fabric is the perfect choice shade protection from the Sun. Perfect for protecting your moss. Also protects from heat, wind, hail, leave/ debris, animal and UV.  Has a 4 years plus when in direct sun. Water Purification System

This pump is designed to be installed inline with the water outlet hose from your rain barrel, and then connects from the outlet side of the booster pump to the mister line.  People on wells and other situations with low water pressure can benefit greatly from this pump. It boosts the pressure significantly, allowing the mister kits to operate (they will not work with a rain barrel without this pump).

The pump needs to plug in somewhere near the rain barrel or hose hook-up, and we will soon have a realistic plastic rock to cover and hide the pump.  The pump is NOT water-proof.

The pump can also be used in line before the Stealth Reverse Osmosis Filter to boost inlet pressure so more filtered water can be produced. The Reverse Osmosis Filter is used for removing minerals and chlorine from water when rain water catchment is not possible. There needs to be at least 40 psi and up to 80 psi of inlet pressure for the Stealth-RO system to function properly.  The pump allows the Stealth-RO to run with higher flow and efficiency while having better TDS (total dissolved solids) removal. The pump is designed for long service life and runs very quietly.  A water catchment device such as a rain barrel will need to be set up to capture the filtered water, and a second booster pump will be needed to push water to the misters.

Mosses do not like to be watered regularly over long periods of time with city water (chlorine) or with well water (dissolved minerals). These elements build up on the moss leaves, and over time can kill the moss. The Stealth RO-100 Reverse Osmosis water filtering system produces up to 100 gallons per day of ultra-pure water. Removes 98%+ of chlorine & contaminants. Wastes approximately 25% less water than other reverse osmosis systems. Everything is included in the box for quick hose connection hook-up. Customized for gardening & hydroponics. We strongly recommend this system for larger moss projects where regular watering will be taking place, but rainwater catchment is not an option. This water is also great to drink! Feel free to fill up some 5 gallon jugs if you are currently drinking chlorinated city water. If you are planting smaller areas with moss and are not going to be investing in this type of system, then please refrain from constant watering with municipal or well water once the moss is established. Occasional watering is okay, but it is better to let nature do the job when the rains come.

Please keep in mind if you do order this system, that you will need a rain barrel or some other vessel to hold the filtered water in, and then you will need our booster pump to provide sufficient pressure to run the mister line(s).
